Consultation and Critical Care Department
Our department undertakes the diagnosis and treatment of acute, critical and difficult cases received in Zhejiang University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. We assist the scientific research and clinical practice for graduate studies, as well as laboratory tasks of provincial and municipal clinical cases such as microbial diagnosis, oncology diagnosis, cytology diagnosis and imaging diagnosis. We also provide remote consultation with international experts, as needed. We see pets with international owners who need care from an English-speaking doctor.

PhD/Professor/Chief veterinarian/Doctoral supervis
Dr. Lin is a distinguished professor, veterinary surgeon and dermatologist. He is the president of China Small Animal Medical Association, Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, as well as the president of China Small Animal Medical Conference. Dr. Lin is also an evaluation expert for new veterinary drugs in Ministry of Agriculture. He specializes in small animal dermatology, oncology, surgery, clinical nutrition, and is renowned in the veterinary clinical practice and industry across the country. Dr. Lin has mentored/supervised 185 doctoral and Master students in his professorship, and has edited (translated) 27 textbooks and professional literature.

Associate professor. Licensed veterinarian (North America)
Dr. Yan is a new addition to our family. She received her associate professorship in Zhejiang University this year. Dr. Yan received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in the United States, as well as a Master’s degree in public health. She is a licensed veterinarian in North America, and practiced in an Emergency and Referral hospital in the state of California before moving back to her hometown, Hangzhou. Her clinical focuses include small animal Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine (cardiac, endocrine, chronic diseases, etc.), Ophthalmology, etc.
Deputy Chief Veterinarian
Dr. Wang has graduated and obtained her master degree of Clinical Veterinary Medicine from China Agricultural University since 2011, and she is committed to care and cure animals for more than 10 years since then. She is now a deputy chief veterinarian and the deputy director of the outpatient department in Zhejiang University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She is an expert of small animal internal medicine, oncology as well as dermatology. She has been giving professional medical lectures around the country since 2014. She has published several articles frequently andparticipated in the translation of several professor books.
Deputy Chief Veterinarian
Specialist in ophthalmology and surgery, and a licensed veterinarian. He graduated from China Agricultural University with a bachelor and master degree. He has worked in the teaching veterinary hospital of China Agricultural University. He specializes in ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, neurosurgery, minimally invasive surgery, bone and joint surgery, complex oral surgery treatment, and has performed a large number of difficult surgeries.

Our department is currently staffed by 2 experts with international vision for veterinary clinical practices, who have obtained intensive clinical training and experience in treating life-threatening conditions.

We dedicate to providing professional and compassionate care for all of our ECC (emergency & critical care) patients and offering daily all patient rounds. Our service works very closely with other departments in our hospital to help ensure optimal patient care. While your family veterinarian can diagnose and treat many routine health problems, certain situations may require the care of doctors who has had intensive training and experience in handling emergency and critical care for your pets.
